GENERAL MISSION
Leading a sourcing section, the Product Manager must answer to the customer’s needs. He is directly responsible for sourcing, negotiation and management of his section to achieve business objectives, ensure increasing turnover and on-time delivery according to the company’s sourcing, buying policies and customers needs.

FUNCTIONS
SOURCING
The PM must set up and monitor the suppliers strategy of his business unit
- Know the sourcing map for his categories.
- Select the most reliable and performing suppliers according to the quality requirements and Auchan Policies.
- Validate each new supplier of his business section
- Get personally involved in all suppliers management and be responsible for negotiations of contracts with suppliers.
- Orient his team on the supplier’s strategy and monitor the implementation.
- Is responsible of the quality of service of his supplier.
- Sign the WTA (with the commercial director’ agreement for supplier with more than one million turnover).
The PM must define a clear range structure.
- Define a clear strategy of product development plan.
- Optimize the assortment structure (first price, 20/80).
The PM must answer to customers’ needs
- Offer a complete and updated range of products matching the European standards and responding to the customers’ requests.
- Know customers’ requirements, set-up and realize commercial projects of his section.
- Be responsible for quality and performance of offers to customers.
OPERATION PROCESS
The PM is responsible of the global operations process to achieve customers’ requirements (quality, product, delivery)
- Monitor the good follow-up of the global process according to customers’ needs and AIE policy.
- Coordinate the Quality process with the Quality department to manage the quality information (quality audit, social audit, lab test and updated standards).
- Insure the implementation of Auchan commercial policies and rules.
- Coordinate his action with every support department in ATC and AIE Villeneuve to maintain the best working relationship with all.
- Make proposals to improve the global process’ s efficiency.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The PM must set-up his commercial strategy and monitor it to achieve the targets defined with his commercial director . He has to set up the supplier strategy of his business unit.
- Be in charge of suppliers database for evaluation (scorecard) and write precise actions plan to improve the suppliers ‘performance.
- Define with his commercial director and customers the business unit objective. Implement the strategy to achieve it and monitor the implementation.
- Constantly review gaps between goals and results, set up feasible actions plans to ensure targets are met.
- Be responsible of his personnel cost and of the yearly budget (travel expenses).
- Identify business opportunity and share with his national and international buyers.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
The PM must manage his team to develop professionalism and team spirit.
- Responsible for recruiting, training and coaching his team.
- Lead his team to achieve its targets and guarantee its professionalism and its efficiency.
- Ensure the good relationship with his team and the others departments and the working efficiency of his business unit
- Define the individual objectives in agreement with his commercial director and monitor performance of his team.
- Establish a customer and service oriented team culture.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Knowledge:
Expertise of a wide range of products
Knowledge of international trade
Knowledge of sourcing techniques
Knowledge of management techniques
Knowledge of computer tools
Fluent English both in spoken & written
